Beautiful Baruva is one of the oldest town in Indian history..! At the time of "Mahabarath war " , Baruva place a key impact in the time.. the Pandava's visited Baruva and bult "kotilingeswara temple" in baruva .. also 1000 years old "sri janardhana temple " & "jaganatha temple " are amazing architecture ..!!

baruva is a village and a beach resort located near Sompeta in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Mahendratanaya River merges into the Bay of Bengal at this place.

Baruva was used as a seaport in the era of British colonial rule in India up to 1948. In July, 1917, a ship carrying goods sank in the sea. The harbor is closed, but the old lighthouse stood until 2000. A light house has been constructed next to the beach resort. Baruva's beach is one of the oldest in Andhra Pradesh.

As per the Mahabharath heroes Pandavas lived in the thick jungles of Mahendragiri mountain which is little away from Baruva, One day they accidentally kill a cow mistaking it for a wild animal. then They perform a yagna and built a temple at the spot.

The Pandavas also bùlt temples on baruva & Mahendragiri mountain peak remnants of them still exist to this day. People around here believe that at the end of the Mahabharat war the Pandavas ascended to the heaven from here. Mahendragiri is the highest peak of the Eastern Ghats. Though the town is called Baruva ..!!
